I’m not sure why the sound isn’t working on this video, but I uploaded it anyway. It gives you an idea of how accessible Toronto is from downtown to the Eaton Center.
You’ll notice I didn’t have my guide dog with me here. She stayed at home with my guide/service dog in training and my boyfriend/camera guy was giving me directions. It seemed to work out well, but I wouldn’t want to do it on a busy day with a lot of people around.

Magee Rehabilitation Hospital has created a training video to help Iraqi citizens learn to properly use wheelchairs.
Magee was asked to create the training materials by Benjamin Kenion, a Captain in the U.S. Army who is in Iraq working with the Babil Provincial Reconstruction Team. Because of his experience as an occupational therapist at Magee, Kenion realized the need for such materials when working with the Babil Regional Rehabilitation Center, which treats 250 patients a day.
The video and materials, which cover transfers, elevations, pressure relief, and basic wheelchair essment, were produced in both English and Arabic to make them more versatile and user friendly. Global Arena in Philadelphia was hired for the translation.
