How do you feel about Obama disrespecting our VETS?

Tuesday Jan 27, 2009

Since its inception in 1953, every new president has attended The Salute to Heroes Inaugural Ball – until now.

The ball was created for President Dwight Eisenhower's inauguration to honor recipients of the Medal of Honor, the nation's highest military award. The event is sponsored by the American Legion and co-sponsored by 13 other veteran's service organizations, including the Paralyzed Veterans of America and the Military Order of the Purple Heart.

And while 48 of the nation's 99 living recipients of the Medal of Honor attended the event, reports the Cleveland Leader and various self-attested attendees of the ball, newly sworn-in President Barack Obama became the first president in 56 years to skip out on the ceremony.

Obama's itinerary, however, did include attendance at 10 balls in his honor, many of which were graced by a cast of the nation's biggest music and movie stars.
Numerous papers report this, as well as wnd.com

Because we now have a man in the Oval Office who not only is unfit for the job but who has no clue what sacrifice means in serving his country in the armed services. What a joke for a Commander-in-Chief.

Obama apparently prefers the company of Jessica Alba.

He laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns on Sunday, and went to Walter Reed, a place he has gone to many times. And he voted for the new GI Bill, something McCain didn't do.

I don't think this slight is nearly as great as the condition a Republican president and Republican-controlled Congress allowed veterans hospitals to deteriorate to.

He went to the Commander in Chief ball and he couldn't go to every party in his honor that was held that day. Maybe hell show vets respect in more than token ways like improving their pay, benefits, equipment and not sending them to pointless wars to get killed for no reason. But your right, going to that ball was REALLY important.

Would you stop spreading this disinformation. There was no Salute to hero's ball. If there was why don't you provide a link? Stop getting your information from Blogs!

Mike, once again, this article was taken from a blog and not a reliable news source.

I'm sure he'll make up for it by taking away veterans' guns and inflating their tires. Thank goodness Obama's here to protect us from our own stupidity, or else we'd all be shooting ourselves in the feet and driving around on floppy tires.
