Where to find a disabled Iraq war veteran to marry?

Sunday Jan 4, 2009

I have been in Iraq and know how it feels. I wish to marry a disabled Iraq veteran. Where can I find someone like that? I am looking for a life-long marriage, not something for now.

Thanks a lot!

Getting married for those reasons is a wrong reason to get married. You have no idea what comes with marrying somebody who is a disabled Iraq war vet.

My husband and I suffer each day. The benefits we get suck. And because he cannot work we have no health care. Unless he can get 100% which we have been fighting for 2 years to get. He is currently at 90%.

The VA doctors suck and the Psychiatrists they have are scumbags.

My husband's told my husband the last time there was no proof he had PTSD since there was no proof he was in combat.

I GOT SO MAD AND YELLED AT HIM ASKING HIM,

IF THERE WAS NO PROOF THEN WHY DID HE EARN THE COMBAT ACTION RIBBON??

He didn't have any answer for that.

Appointments are hard to get and if you made an appointment today you won't be seen until February for anything.

The stress a disabled vet and his or her family go through is beyond what you can imagine.

Going to Iraq is one thing.

Dealing with the VA when you come back in another and realizing the government don't give a rats *** about you when you are broken is another.

My husband has 2 knees that are destroyed and his back has so many scars from the holes they had to cut open to remove shrapnel from it. He can't stand or sit for long periods or time.

I think that marrying someone solely because of military service and a disability is the wrong reason to marry. Look into helping out newly returned vets and get some help yourself because everyone should be able to talk to someone.

Hmmmmm…as if military wives are not bad enough spending their mans money and getting pension money through divorces now we have one going after a soldiers VA disability money.
