If McCain supports the troops so much (and supposedly Obama doesn't) how can he explain these numbers??

Tuesday Dec 2, 2008

Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America rates John McCain a D and Barack Obama a B+ for the 2006 legislative term.

Disabled American Veterans rates Senator McCain at 20% and Senator Obama at 80% for support of their legislative priorities.

In a list of “Key Votes,” Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) notes McCain “Voted Against Us” 15 times and “Voted For Us” only 8. (Obama voted for VVA 12 times, and against only once.)
Here are the sources:

And the other respondent's source that you mentioned is a poll of military persons and not the actual voting records of the candidates. It has nothing to do with my question. My question was not if the troops support McCain, but if he really supports them considering he consistently votes against Veterans best interests.

Republicans always wave the flag and say how patriotic they are, they have a love of (money) country. They support the troops (defense contractors). Democrats take care of vets. The largest pay raise in history for the Military was given by Bill Clinton. The money went to the troops instead of the pet projects of the Pentagon.

most troops signed up…at the beggining beofre they came to Iraq were mostly republicans in support of bush and america….and those people who have trully seen the horrors that are in the Iraqi war…have lost support for ther republican party..because they now see how terrible this war really trully is

Troops supporting Obama and Obama supporting troops are completely different.

KFC supports chickens. I strongly doubt chickens support KFC.

Don't need to explain them, McCain has the support of the troops and Obama doesn't. Haven't you been following this at all?

Thank-you John for your input!

Those groups probably consist of a guy with a computer in his basement. Anyone can create a group with a lofty title and rate the candidates.

He can't explain the numbers, that's why he lied to that Vietnam Vet during the town hall meeting. It's funny that Republicans will say it doesn't matter if the President supports the troops, it's only if the troops support the president. That doesn't say very much about the Republicans on here if they don't even feel it's necessary for our politicians to take care of our servicemen and women.

Can you please site where you got this information? Because someone's answer above me gave a source that completely contradicts your numbers.

And you forgot to mention McCain failed to even show up to vote for the latest Gi Bill that was passed.
