Does John McCain adores the War but ignores the Warriors?

Wednesday Dec 3, 2008

Everyone knows McCain is a former prisoner of war, but did you know he refuses to support a bipartisan effort to modernize the GI Bill and has voted against nearly every effort to increase funding for healthcare and disability benefits for wounded soldiers? Did you know that Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) gave him a D+ when they scored his voting record (whereas Obama got a B+ and Clinton an A-). Do you know that he voted with the interests of Disabled American Veterans (DAV) only 20 percent of the time?

McCain was a fighter pilot, who dropped laser-guided missiles from 35,000 feet," Rockefeller said. "He was long gone when they hit. What happened when they (the missiles) get to the ground? He doesn't know. You have to care about the lives of people. McCain never gets into those issues."

He doesn't care if we're in Iraq for a hundred years, but when it comes to the veterans who've served over there, the senator is AWOL.

He opposed the new GI Bill because it was loaded with pork. Furthermore, GI Bill is about educational assistance-not about health care and disability. That is the VA. If you were a veteran, like me, you would know the difference.

He has voted repeatedly to help veterans when the bill is not loaded with pork barrel spending.

Greg D. You are full of it! if he had "sung like a bird" as you say, he would have been prosecuted to the full extent of UCMJ. He would have spent his Senate time behind bars in Ft. Leavenworth.

While we're making stuff up about candidates, Senator Obama rips the heads off of babies and violates cattle.

Yes, that's why he refuses to give the Vet's what they need. McCain voted against the vets because it cost to much money. There was no pork in the Bill (R) Chuck Hagel is pissed off at McCain for lying about the Bill.

That is not true and what you say has been debunked. He voted against a bad bill and voted for a better one.

All John McCain talks about is war. He never votes for veterans legislation. It's his record, he needs to live with it.

Yes. I couldn't believe that he refused to support a bill to help the soldiers after they have returned from their tours either injured or emotionally scarred.

StereotypeMeBecauseYouKnow:

Democrats are famous for overloading nice sounding bills in an election year. They actually tried to pass the Cap and Trade bill last week that would have essentially given the government complete control of the economy. That is beyond frightening, and I cannot believe the Liberals don't even understand it or want the government to control our lives. What's next? Communism? Talk about the party that hates freedom.
Talk about all the add-ons, and then get back to us.

Edit: Typical with the thumbs down. Same voters who don't even know what I am talking about.

McCain is still fighting Vietnam in his mind. That's why he wants to keep us in Iraq.

You need to do some research, unless you're intentionally leaving out the facts and legitimate reasons McCain has refused to support the so-called bipartisan GI Bill. There's no one out there that would take better care of our troops than McCain.

Note: I don't necessarily like McCain, but you're apparently leaving out the supporting information.
