Need a hand heating sealed box for making my extreme sport as a disabled guy possible?
Posted by admin | Under disabled sports Tuesday Feb 3, 2009Hi guys/girls my name is Simon Jameson im21 im in a wheelchair and i do an extreme sport called Airsoft is like paint ball for some of you who don't know, well the sport involves me going outdoors alot and as u know it can be very cold, now i suffer from a condition called muscular dystrophy witch makes me very weak over years, im at a stage were i can just bout move my head neck and hands enough to pull a trigger for my airsoft guns, but i have a big problem that is stopping me from playing the sport i love so much, when out side my hands get soo cold from being exposed to the cold, i have tryed gloves heat gels, heated gloves u name it i tryed it, but cos im so weak anything like gloves restricts my hands, but i need someone to point me in the right direction of how to get something built, im thinking and this the best thing that would work, a conseled box with hot air pumped into it over my control panel and joystick, and a good heat now and some way that it stays warm inside, if somebody could point me in the right direction or somebody thinks they can make this possable for me, i would be ever so happy and u will of changed my life and many others if anyones to follow. please help for i love my sport alot and my weakness is fast and progressive id say i have a year of full strength left and id like it to be memorable.

Sports ideas for non-disabled and disabled people?
Posted by admin | Under disabled sports Saturday Jan 31, 2009A friend of mine uses a wheelchair, and he has a very small amount of function in his legs. I've been trying to think of ways to play sports with him, and for it to be fun for him. I do realize that I will probably have to compromise since it is easier for me to move, but it would be great to find something with a relatively level playing field and that maybe we could do with a group of other non-disabled people. I just don't want to make him feel like he is dragging down the group or that he is being singled out. I have hesitated to ask him to do sport-type activities for this reason.
One idea that comes to mind is table tennis. Any other ideas?
Sled hockey, Wheelchair basketball - at both you will be at the disadvantage. Paintball. Bumper cars. Skating (skating in a chair is awesome!) Dancing.
