I am a member of the Disable American Veteran, I’m asking some kind of identification to proof that I am a member of the Disable American Veteran a wallet size.
hm.
Call the VA?
I’m not sure how else you could.
What would you like to ask?
Posted by admin | Under disabled american veterans Wednesday Dec 24, 2008Travis Tritt plays a song called "The Blues Man"……?
Posted by admin | Under disabled american veterans Friday Dec 19, 2008I saw him play this on a video he made called "A Celebration - A Musical Tribute to the Spirit of the Disabled American Veteran." Does anyone know if he has recorded this song anywhere or where I can get it without the documentary talkover on it?
I'm sure it's Travis Tritt…. I am watching the video this very moment..lol
Hank Williams Jr. did the song originally, and Alan Jackson covered it on his "Under The Influence" album, where he pays homage to songs and singers who have inspired him through the years.
I haven't found the Travis Tritt version yet, maybe on limewire or Itunes?
I am jobless and homeless. Here is my question. Why did you turn me down for work?
Posted by admin | Under disabled american veterans Wednesday Dec 17, 2008Why did you turn a Disabled Veteran down for work? why do you hate to hire a Disabled Veteran ? Why do you want to make all Disabled Veterans homeless and Jobless?
I would love to here your answers to the question that I just asked you. What did I as a United States of American Disabled Veteran ever do to you?
Dear Editor;
It was and is a real great honor to sever this nation as a United States Veteran. I am also will to give up my life so that you can have freedom once more. I would do it just for you. I am proud to be called a United States Veteran. And I thank you for letting me give up my life for you.
Did you know that we veterans ask only one thing in return? We would like to work and work hard at a job so that we are not homeless, or hungry, cold.
We veterans are treated so bad when we come home from serving our nation, that we are hated by all.
I have this very question why do you hate us? What did we do to treated this way? What did we do wrong? Why won’t you hire us and give us a Job? What does it take for us Vets to get a job? Who do we see, where do we go? You tell us.
We here the promises that are made to Veterans like me from both the private sector, and our governments. Yet they all turn out to be lies. I hope and pray that theses are not lies, but the truths.
How much longer must we Veterans have to suffer because we gave up our lives so that you can have freedom?
I have a dream that one day I to as a US. Veteran will have a job and a place to call home.
I am hopping that day will be tomorrow. I wish it was today or even yesterday.
Here is the real problem you say you will hire us, but when it comes right down to it you will not do it. Then why don’t you hang a sign up that say the real truth Vets need not apply we will not and shall not hire any US. Veterans please leave.
Finely what does it take to end this problem?
I am a US. Veteran that loves you so much that I am will to die for you so that you can have your freedom. Hire me please thank you
Terry Virgil US. Veteran
If your homeless how did you post this question?
Does John McCain adores the War but ignores the Warriors?
Posted by admin | Under disabled american veterans Wednesday Dec 3, 2008Everyone knows McCain is a former prisoner of war, but did you know he refuses to support a bipartisan effort to modernize the GI Bill and has voted against nearly every effort to increase funding for healthcare and disability benefits for wounded soldiers? Did you know that Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) gave him a D+ when they scored his voting record (whereas Obama got a B+ and Clinton an A-). Do you know that he voted with the interests of Disabled American Veterans (DAV) only 20 percent of the time?
McCain was a fighter pilot, who dropped laser-guided missiles from 35,000 feet," Rockefeller said. "He was long gone when they hit. What happened when they (the missiles) get to the ground? He doesn't know. You have to care about the lives of people. McCain never gets into those issues."
He doesn't care if we're in Iraq for a hundred years, but when it comes to the veterans who've served over there, the senator is AWOL.
He opposed the new GI Bill because it was loaded with pork. Furthermore, GI Bill is about educational assistance-not about health care and disability. That is the VA. If you were a veteran, like me, you would know the difference.
He has voted repeatedly to help veterans when the bill is not loaded with pork barrel spending.

Greg D. You are full of it! if he had "sung like a bird" as you say, he would have been prosecuted to the full extent of UCMJ. He would have spent his Senate time behind bars in Ft. Leavenworth.
While we're making stuff up about candidates, Senator Obama rips the heads off of babies and violates cattle.
If McCain supports the troops so much (and supposedly Obama doesn't) how can he explain these numbers??
Posted by admin | Under disabled american veterans Tuesday Dec 2, 2008Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America rates John McCain a D and Barack Obama a B+ for the 2006 legislative term.
Disabled American Veterans rates Senator McCain at 20% and Senator Obama at 80% for support of their legislative priorities.
In a list of “Key Votes,” Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) notes McCain “Voted Against Us” 15 times and “Voted For Us” only 8. (Obama voted for VVA 12 times, and against only once.)
Here are the sources:
http://www.iava.org/full-ratings-list
http://capwiz.com/dav/scorecard.xc
http://capwiz.com/vva/e4/cinfo/?id=157301
And the other respondent's source that you mentioned is a poll of military persons and not the actual voting records of the candidates. It has nothing to do with my question. My question was not if the troops support McCain, but if he really supports them considering he consistently votes against Veterans best interests.
Republicans always wave the flag and say how patriotic they are, they have a love of (money) country. They support the troops (defense contractors). Democrats take care of vets. The largest pay raise in history for the Military was given by Bill Clinton. The money went to the troops instead of the pet projects of the Pentagon.
Can U2 help us?
Posted by admin | Under disabled american veterans Monday Dec 1, 2008Disabled American Veterans
DAV doesn't need a stage act to get help, need to help themselves by being the first Organization to fire and never hire any Political Lobbyists. If DAV did this one act open and in full view of the public, you might not get that .8 million for the rent on thier office space, but you would get the Respect and Honour of a gratefull public.
By this one action, DAV could be the driving force that would stop all Goverment aided Incs,Orgs,LLCs,and the lobbying machine that has gotten way out of control. Was a time, that I can actually recall, when a Public Servant was exactly that. The mayor of my town was not the mayor becuase he was for this or against that, he was called the Mayor cause he ran the stuff at the City Hall.
If you can also remember when Public Servants served the Public, and becomeing an Elected Official was not the brightest idea to get rich quick, then you know what I am talking about.
Help comes from within. That is the message that U2 and others have been telling us since the written language was invented, do we listen? do we act on it?

Why does John McCain keep getting a free pass in the media?
Posted by admin | Under disabled american veterans Saturday Nov 29, 2008People have asked this question a lot about Obama, I intend to prove that McCain is the one who has been getting the pass all along. He has tried to prove time and again that he’s best for our troops, with his main reasoning being that he’s a veteran and therefore knows what they want. Here’s some facts for you (they’re all in the link below in case you don’t want to read them)
1. He only showed up for 4 of the past 14 votes on the Iraq War last year, he’s shown up for none this year, which included a resolution honoring the sacrifice made by the fallen soldiers.
2. Time and again, he’s either tabled, voted no on, or simply not attended a vote to fund national guard and reserve troops, or even the main troops
3. He has attempted to stop bills that would give veterans health care
4. Voted against bills that would say troops would limit troop times in the field
After all this (and by the way, this is the “new” McCain, the one that’s very recent), the media has hardly even said a word. Everyone takes it for granted that since he’s better for the troops since he was one. The problem is that even among veterans Obama is favored as far better for them. Iraq and Afghan veterans and disabled American veterans have all been far more in support of Obama’s voting in the legislature than McCain’s.
And it’s not just that. McCain says things and then acts like he never did. At one point he said that Obama’s timetable was a good one on CNN, and then when asked about it on ABC said he never said anything about a timetable. He has specifically said in the past that he was not an expert on the economy, and when he tried to say he’d never said that before he finally got called out by Tim Russert.
Obama is a more popular guy for the media, but the fact that he has so much attention has actually caused more focus on him. The amount of negative media vs. positive for Obama, under a study touted by Republicans not too long ago, is a ratio of almost 3:1, while for McCain that ratio is just under 1:1.
And it’s become the same for Palin. Palin has become a face and a personality, and though she has dodged questions on policy and past earmarking practices, none of that seems to matter to most Republicans. After all, this is the great family values candidate, the moose hunting governor. So what if she fired some librarians who refused to ban certain books? So what if she was the one who pushed the bridge to nowhere, and then when it got laughed at acted like she was against it all along, but kept the money? So what if oil companies have been allowed full range to drill most of Alaska with the only price being that they have to pay each Alaskan a meager $1000 dollars to make billions?

So far, the only responses against me are "just a big rant" and, basically, "false." If you don't like what I have to say, then prove what the commentators on MSNBC said in that link I provided wrong. Pretty much all the facts are laid out there, and yes, you can go check them for yourself. None of you provided links to anything at all, so I can't say much except look at my link. As for the ones who obviously stopped reading or just called it a rant, you missed the entire point. The media has not been reporting on these indiscretions. Even if McCain did right, he should have to defend himself against the accusations that he did these things. If he had reasons for them, he would have to provide them. The mainstream media hasn't said a word. And it's not a rant, it's a methodical argument.
I know it's long guys, but that's why I said at the start that the link has pretty much everything in it. The only part it doesn't have is the Palin argument, and some of the extentions. I'd love to shorten what I said, but I wanted to say a lot.
Nightwind - since you said so much, I'll respond to you in full. First off, you obviously never followed the link. If you had, you'd have realized that it's a link to an MSNBC newscast. The fun part about that is that Youtube is just a forum on which it is broadcast, it has nothing to do with the validity of the report. So this is an actual report, thanks for proving its importance.
Obama's not socialist. People keep saying this and obviously don't know socialism. You're saying McCain buys into everything I'm saying and still people like him better than Obama? Most of the Republican base clamors for more good things for veterans, and Obama has clearly done more.
And you obviously missed my last argument, where I talked directly about Palin and her policies. If you want to advocate how great she is, you should respond to what I said about her. One more thing - most VP candidates have little control over what the president does. So her influence would be minimal at best.
CS101 - I wish I was paid to do this stuff. It would make it a lot more fun and easier for me. Unfortunately for you, I'm doing this of my own free will and not being paid one penny for it.
He who owns the gold makes the rules. McCain close association with the inner circles and those owning the airwaves filter what the American voters will experience. Which is why its imperative to get as much information from various sources and deduct from your thought process to formulate a conclusion.
Why is Obama getting more military support than McCain?
Posted by admin | Under disabled american veterans Thursday Nov 27, 2008“The Center for Responsive Politics reports that Barack Obama is getting six times as much support from American military personnel serving overseas than John McCain. Interestingly, even Ron Paul, who was staunchly opposed to the Iraq war, has gotten 4 1/2 times the contributions from overseas soldiers than McCain has.
“That’s shocking. The academic debate is between some who say that junior enlisted ranks lean slightly Republican and some who say it’s about equal, but no one would point to six-to-one” in Democrats’ favor, said Aaron Belkin, a professor of political science at the University of California who studies the military. “That represents a tremendous shift from 2000, when the military vote almost certainly was decisive in Florida and elsewhere, and leaned heavily towards the Republicans.”
McCain seems to be having a difficult time winning the support of the military despite his own history as a Navy pilot and former POW. The group Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans for America, for example, gave McCain a rating of D for his support of veteran’s issues while giving Obama a rating of B+. Disabled American Veterans say McCain voted with their position 11 times and against them 16 times in recent sessions, while Obama voted with them 17 times and only once against them.”

Because no one truly likes to fight. Obama is making promises of ending the war, and that’s what I think they honestly want. They just want to be with their families and friends again.
How can anyone including himself, say that John McCain supports our troops?
Posted by admin | Under disabled american veterans Wednesday Nov 26, 2008The following are indisputable facts. Please tell me how anyone can really believe that he cares about our troops after reading these and the many, many more examples that can be found at the links provided below. Be honest, how?
Veterans Groups Give McCain Failing Grades. In its most recent legislative ratings, the non-partisan Disabled American Veterans gave Sen. McCain a 20 PERCENT GRADE ON HIS VOTING RECORD ON VETERANS ISSUES. 20%!. Similarly, the non-partisan Iraq & Afghanistan Veterans of America gave McCain a “D” grade for his poor voting record on veterans’ issues, including McCain’s votes against additional BODY ARMOR FOR TROOPS.
McCain Opposed the 21st Century GI Bill Because It Was Too Generous.
McCain Voted Against Increased Funding for Veterans’ Health Care.
McCain Voted At Least 28 Times Against Veterans’ Benefits, Including Healthcare.
McCain Voted Against Providing Automatic Cost-of-Living Adjustments
McCain Voted to Underfund Department of Veterans Affairs.
McCain Voted Against a $13 Billion Increase in Funding for Veterans Programs.
McCain Voted Against $44.3 Billion for Veterans Programs.
McCain Voted Against $47 Billion for the Department of Veterans Affairs.
McCain Opposed $500 Million for Counseling Services for Veterans with Mental Disorders.
McCain Voted Against Adding More Than $400 Million for Veterans’ Care.
McCain Supported Outsourcing VA Jobs.
McCain voted Against Establishing a $1 Billion Trust Fund for Military Health Facilities.
McCain said it’s “not too important” when U.S. troops leave Iraq.
I would never entrust my sons to this lunatic. Would you?
Not as a Repulican or Democrat, just on this one single issue, would you trust him with your children if you had a choice?

(sigh) I have answered this before. How about I cut-and-paste so you don’t have to make any effort?
From McCain, as recorded in the Senate minutes: “This legislation bridges the gap in health care coverage for the severely wounded, and ensures their access to the broadest possible range of health care services. It authorizes additional care and support for families who are caring for the wounded. The bill increases traumatic brain injury care for veterans, and access to mental health evaluations. It requires the Secretaries of Defense and Veterans Affairs to develop and implement new policy to better manage the care and transition of our wounded soldiers. It also empowers a special board to review disability ratings of 20 percent or less, and to restore to wounded soldiers, if appropriate, a higher disability rating or retired status. And, it authorizes additional funding for traumatic brain injury and post traumatic stress disorder.” {http://mccain.senate.gov/public/index.cf…
“I am pleased an agreement has finally been reached to fund our troops. It is unfortunate that for months, the Democrat controlled Congress has placed partisan politics over essential war funding needs, demonstrating an unconscionable lack of concern for the welfare of our combat troops in the field and for the morale of all DOD personnel. Fortunately, it is reported that an agreement between the House, Senate, and Administration is imminent, and urgently needed funding will be enacted shortly not only to aid our troops, but to fund several emergencies throughout our nation, particularly in the Midwest. We need to provide federal assistance to these flood damaged communities as soon as possible. ” {http://mccain.senate.gov/public/index.cf…
In response to a request from Senator Judd Gregg (R-NH), the ranking Minority Member of the Senate Budget Committee, the CBO provided information about the cost of S. 22, including its impact on the retention of military personnel. CBO estimates that enactment of S. 22 could lead to a decrease of 16% in reenlistment rates and increase the Department of Defense costs to maintain current levels of retention.
“I believe we can and must do more to improve education benefits for our veterans and servicemembers,” said Senator McCain. “Congress must enact legislation that will increase education benefits, aid in recruitment and, importantly, encourage continued service in the military.
As our armed forces fight a war on two fronts, we must do everything we can to maintain and encourage reenlistment” said McCain. “Unfortunately, S. 22 could greatly harm retention rates in our All Volunteer Force. I am hopeful that all of us who want to improve the GI Bill education benefits can join forces and that is why I stand ready to work with Senator Webb and others to pass meaningful legislation that works in the best interests of all servicemembers and veterans, including those that remain on duty.” {http://mccain.senate.gov/public/index.cf…
“Mr. President, I am very pleased to join today with Senator Lindsey Graham, the Ranking Member of the Personnel Subcommittee of the Senate Armed Services Committee, and Senator Richard Burr, the Ranking Member of the Senate Veterans Committee, in introducing the Enhancement of Recruitment, Retention, and Readjustment Through Education Act. This legislation, which is designed to greatly enhance veterans’ education benefits, is also cosponsored by Senators Chambliss, Lieberman, Cornyn, Alexander, Hutchison, Martinez, Stevens, Cochran, Collins, Barasso, Domenici, Dole, Wicker, Isakson, and Inhofe….
As my colleagues know, our proposal is not the only measure that has been offered to increase GI education benefits, and I want to commend the efforts of Senators Webb, Hagel, Warner and others on their work to bring this important issue to the forefront in the Senate, by the introduction of S. 22. Each of us supports a revitalized GI program. While I don’t think anyone disagrees with the overall intent of S. 22, I believe we can and should do more to promote recruitment and retention of servicemen and women and to ensure that veterans and their families receive the education benefits they deserve, and in a timely manner. But I remain very hopeful that we can all work together in a bipartisan manner to ensure that Congress enacts meaningful legislation that will be signed into law as soon as possible. ” {http://mccain.senate.gov/public/index.cf…

Washington, DC– U.S. Senator John McCain (R-AZ) today applauded the final passage of the National Defense Authorization bill of 2008, which fully funds the troops by providing top-notch healthcare and life-saving equipment for American soldiers…
Do some real research.
